Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival will be held in the Lido Park next Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17.
It will be officially opened at 10am by Great British Bake Off finalist Steven Bailey-Carter who will host a cookery demonstration alongside local chefs. MP Nigel Huddleston will also be at the opening.
And there will be more than 100 food and drink stalls featuring local businesses including the award-winning Churchfields Ice Cream and Croome Cuisine Cheeses. Of the stalls, 90 per cent will be from organisations in a 30-mile radius.
Entertainment in the main bandstand will include town singer Jamie Knight, Richard Leach’s Jazz Band, the Droitwich Community Choir and the Acorn Antiques Ukulele Band.
There will also be a picnic area and a host of free entertainment for children, such as Discover History, Madame Zucchini’s vegetable theatre from Britain’s Got Talent, bouncy castles, face-painting and a smoothie bike.
The Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival, now in its sixth year, has become one of the main events in the town during the summer and is fast becoming one of the leading foodie events in the Midlands.
It is run by a committee of volunteers and supported by Wychavon District Council, Worcestershire County Council and local businesses.
Organiser Patrick Davis said: “Admission is completely free and it is a great, affordable day out for the whole family.”Tags: Droitwich Spa
